The news broke today that the Barking Spider, a legendary destination for live music in Cleveland, Ohio will be closing after this weekend, after 30 years.
The final show is their 30th anniversary party, which takes place this Sunday and will go all day and night.
I’m sad to see this venue go as it has been one of the strongest supporters of live music in the country, let alone the city of Cleveland. For years, some of the best acts from all over, have traveled to the unique spot to perform in the intimate room, set in the Case Western Reserve University / University Circle neighborhood.
If you live in the Cleveland area, go there to see a show this week. Do yourself that favor.
In any event, thanks for having me, and thanks for all you did for music in Cleveland.
